Crimson Pride (tanka)
Full of boastful pride
Wall exhibited its coat
Pride leads to a fall
Soon its crimson covering
Would be stripped bare of its leaves
Dancing Clouds (shadorma)
Dancing clouds
Sensational show
Swaying in
Slow dance pairs
Shapely contours silver bright
Pregnant with raindrops
This next haiku is written for W3 #104.

Autumn Folly
Nature’s last folly
Temperature’s drop at night
Frost decorates buds
Both beautiful poems. Very well versed.

You have such beautiful flowers all year long. I really like the cloud patterns too. (K)

Mother Nature is certainly playing tricks on us these days, folly is a great description. What are those plants in the first picture, Robbie? Are there animals that eat them?
LikeLiked by 2 people
They are some sort of creeper. There are no animals in the city but there would be lots of insects.

Nature is confused. We had 5 days of unusual cold followed by a week of 30C. The plants are confused.

You always have a perfect marriage between prose and photographs Robbie!
Are you getting frost in the mornings? You do not get snow, do you?
My hummers have arrived. They love to stop in for a drink and chat.

Hi Wayne, the photographs often come first 😁. We had a sudden drop in temperature one night and a bit of frost. Then, the sun returned and it was 30C for a week 🤷♀️

Hi is living on a base but I’m don’t know where exactly. I know he goes back to Gaza on Thursday. His uncle and his family live in Israel so he has some family. He did most of his high school at a boarding school in Israel.

Are those pink flowers growing in the tree?
So, now it is fall where you are. How cold will it get in the winter? 💖
LikeLiked by 1 person
Hi Resa, those flowers are bougainvillea. They are flowering for the second time (they flower in spring and again in autumn). I live in the highveld and out winter weather is generally very pleasant during the day with temperatures of 21C to 23C on average. Our nights are cold and it does drop just below freezing during June and July.
