Teagan Geneviene has issued a challenge for bloggers to create something that illustrates the colourless world inhabited by her heroine, Emlyn, in her fantastic Dead of Winter series. You can read about Teagan’s challenge here: https://teagansbooks.com/2021/12/08/wednesday-writing-what-used-to-be/
I was going to write something, but then I remembered the winter wonderland I created a few years ago and which is perfectly suited to this challenge. It features Jack Frost, who is actually a rather evil character in the colourless world he has created using his chisel and other tools.

Jack also looks after the snow babies.

Robbie this is a splendid answer to the challenge. Thank you so much for using your Jack Frost character. It lets the two worlds of our different imaginations cross over. Hugs on the wing!

Thank you, Pete. I had a fancy to make a wedding cake but my sister didn’t want my cake so I made this instead.

In my opinion, your sister made a mistake by not accepting your offer. 🙂

Very beautiful white cake. I especially liked the icicle on Jack Frost’s long nose. His long nose reminded me of Pinocchio.

Haha, Frank, his nose had to long so I could fit the icicle on it. Thanks so much.

Isn’t this interesting! I’ve never thought of a winter wonderland as colorless. A colorless world to me would be gray. Be that as it may, the artistry of your winter cake is stunning.

I suppose I do think of winter landscapes as being colourless, Liz. I’ve only experienced a snowy winter twice in my life so this is also based on my imaginings.
LikeLiked by 1 person
On cloudy days, the colors of a snowy landscape are muted, but on sunny days, the snow reflects light, which makes the colors of everything that isn’t snow more vivid.

Yes, I can imagine that is so. Very beautiful, like living in a prism.

Even your colourless creatures turn out to be cute. You just can’t create ugly, even in winter here in this hemisphere. 😀

I admire your skill and love the cake. However the idea of a colorless world remains grim for me. I can see why Jack Frost might be an evil character.

Hi Elizabeth, a colourless world would depressed me very much. I am a very colourful person and love orange, pink and yellow. Jack Frost is an evil little man in the stories I’ve heard.
