Thank you to Nonnie Jules and the team at RRBC for this lovely post for Random Acts of Kindness Day. I am delighted to be a contributor to RRBC’s latest anthology, Memories of Mom, with a short story about my memories of the premature birth of my sister, Catherine.
I’m sure Robbie Cheadle has been at my place before, but today, I’d like to shine a light on her and her written works, in honor of RRBC’S RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS DAY!
Friends, meet my dear friend, Robbie…
Robbie is such a generous, loving and caring person, there was no way I was going to let this day go by, without sharing her (again) with all of you!
Robbie has so many books, that I can’t list them all here for you, but click…

Robbie recently submitted a piece for our MEMORIES OF MOM Rave Soup For The Writer’s Soul Anthology, 2022 at RRBC, and here is just a snippet of her piece called THE NEW BABY…
When I was a little girl of nearly four years old, my sister, Catherine, was born. She…

I enjoyed this story, Robbie. Four-year-olds have unique thoughts and fears, don’t they?

Somehow I missed out on all the Random Acts of Kindness this week, I’ll extend my tribute to you with a comment here. Our two grandsons graduated with highest honors from high school this week, and there were lots of family and fanfare.
Yay, Robbie! 😀

It’s great to see you featured there, Robbie, and your story sound very moving. The thoughts of a little girl are rendered so vividly as well. It must have been terrifying! My goddaughter Alexandra was born at 8 months but she was very underweight (not even 2kg), and she spent a long time in an incubator. She did fit in her father’s hand, even after having spent time in the incubator. You wouldn’t know it if you saw her now, of course!

Hi Olga, Catherine is the tallest of the four of us, but she is very thin and her health isn’t as robust as the rest of us. I think it does impact on you when you are very premature.
