I am excited to welcome author Harriet Hodgson to Robbie’s Inspiration today as the RRBC “Spotlight” Author for May 2021. Welcome Harriet!
Your Favorite Words List
All writers have favorite words. At least, that is my impression. I have a list of favorite words and it keeps growing. The words on the list are there because of meaning or the music of the English language. According to some of the articles I’ve read, English is a language rich with descriptive words. What are some of my favorite words?
Tender
Peace
Peaceful
Gentle
Shining
Kind
Laughter
Musical
Love
Resilient
Strong
Helpful
Determined
Persistent
Creative
Imagine
I could go on and on. Though I use many of my favorite words when I’m writing, I don’t over-use them. Take a few moments to think about your favorite words. Why do you like them? What do they represent? Favorite words are part of our identity as people and as writers.
Grief Doodling: Bringing Back Your Smiles
Blurb
From the very first page, Grief Doodling invites action. Topics range from the benefits of doodling, to why doodling is fun, to doodling tips, and responding to doodling prompts. The prompts, based on grief research, promote self-worth and healing. This is a hopeful book—something all grieving kids need.

HI Miriam, thanks for visiting and supporting Harriet. I shall have to think which favourite words I have and make sure I don’t overuse them.

I use Grammarly, and it tells me the overused words, three sentences in the same paragraphs start with “I” etc. I like that.

Hi Harriet, Hi Robbie,
Harriet, you are an inspiration to many. Your perseverance, resilience, and eagerness to live out your purpose on this planet is an amazing testimony to all of us and encourages many who give up much, much too soon to get back in their boats.
Keep going, keep rowing your boat, and keep smiling. I love that smile of yours. It radiates and brings me joy.
Robbie, thank you so much for hosting Harriet.
Wishing you both a lovely week.
Shalom aleichem

Favorite words, Robbie. I have two; don’t use them when I’m writing though. One is Pink, the other is Roses, ergo my user name! I just love the sound of them; Rose pink; Pink rose, lovely!

Hi Elizabeth I love pink and I love roses. Two favourites of mine.

Robbie, missed this post before and am so happy to see it now. Harriet is such a powerhouse, an inspiration to all of us! To me, it looks like all those favorite words describe her perfectly. I have her Grief Doodling on my kindle and plan to go through it with my 14 year old Grandson.
Harriet, all the best to you and hope you enjoyed your tour!

Thank you Maura. I think your grandson will respond well to it. If you visit the blog on my website you can download a free guide to the book.

Thank you, Harriet. I wasn’t aware of the guide. I will check it out. My grandson is an anxious boy, his father died of leukemia when he was five and he changed a good bit after that. I think the doodling would be good for him, he’s very artistic anyway and loves to draw.

I am so sorry to hear that, Maura Beth. I hope the books help your grandson.
