Of course, everyone will say this is impossible, there are too many and that is true. But put on the spot I will plump for High Flight by John Gillespie Magee. You may not have heard of Magee and that’s probably because he was killed in WW2 in 1941 aged 21.     1. Thank you, Darlene. I admire the way Geoff’s mind works, his dark humour is relatable for me as I am also a bit dark and slightly cynical about certain aspects of life. Geoff and I both come from corporate professional backgrounds.

    1. Hi Pat. I did rather take liberties with A Way Through the Woods and The Lady of Shallot, in my book, but in the best possible taste of course. If you perchance read them I hope you’d enjoy the new take…

      1. Hi,
        I do plan to read more of your work. I have you on my TBR List and if your poetry is on Amazon I’ll purchase it and give my reaction to what I read on Amazon. I’m open for a new take as long as it doesn’t destroy the meaning of what the poem intended to portray. Fresh revelation is always good.
