This week’s Sunday Stills photo challenge from Terri over at Second Wind Leisure Perspectives is all about plant life.
I love plants and flowers, especially ones made from fondant, so today I’m going to showcase a few of my favourite fondant flowers.
You can join in the photograph challenge here; https://secondwindleisure.com/2020/06/07/sunday-stills-plant-life-grows-around-us/

Hi Frank, I like that one too. The golden roses were a challenge to make and the chocolate ganache icing highlighted them beautifully.

So beautiful, Robbie. I’m curious, who has the pleasure of eating all of these lovely blooms?

Hi Jill, not that many of them get eaten, to be honest. Some people keep them, they last for a long time. My nieces eat some of them and some of my work colleagues too.

I assumed your co-workers were the lucky recipients.

They get the left overs, Jill. And the flowers.

Wow, Robbie, these cakes are so beautiful. If you lived in the same land I would ask if you would let me order some from you.
What a treat that would be.,

Thank you, Toni. The hibiscus cake was for my mom’s 80th birthday and the golden roses cake for her 78th birthday. I adore my mom so making a cake for her always brings out the best in my artwork.

I always am so excited when you share your fondant floral and plant confections for Sunday Stills, Robbie! They are all stunning and so intricate. The hydrangea!! Oh my! And those delicate lilies. You are so truly talented! Now I need to head to the fridge and look for something sweet to go with my afternoon cup of coffee!

Thank you, Terri. I have been on a fondant flower making streak again lately. The flowers are time consuming to make as they need to dry well, especially if they are layered.

Thank you, Stevie. The roses take a week to make and are a bit complex. The most difficult flowers I have made are the peonies, those were a real challenge.
