Hugh Roberts from Hughsviewsandnews blog is hosting Sunday Stills today and the subject is old. You can join in here: https://hughsviewsandnews.com/2020/01/12/have-you-found-the-secret-of-old-items-sundaystills/
I thought I would share a few of my fondant creations which feature older people. Making figurines with elderly features is much more difficult as you have to include much more facial details as you can see below.
This is Professor Smartie:
Here is a granny with her hair in a bun:
This is an elderly gentleman. A close up so you can see the facial detail.
Have a wonderful week.
Michael and I have a new Sir Chocolate book coming out in April. I will share the cover soon.
Great fondants!!!

Those are wonderful, Robbie. Amazing how you add the wrinkles and dimples of old age. I was showing my husband some of your fondant creations this morning and he was amazed. 🙂

Thank you, Diana. That tickles me pink. The older characters are much more difficult to make.

Loved the grannie. Looked very inviting and warm. I would listen to her read a book any time.

These are great!! Can I get your books in Canada?

Hi Darlene, They are available from Amazon US but they are expensive from Amazon. It is much cheaper to buy them from TSL Publications or Lulu.com and have them posted to Canada. I know that Anne (TSL Publications) will do it for a good price.

Thanks. They did seem expensive on Amazon.

You did a great job with the fondant characters, Robbie. I think the clothes you’ve given them also helps make them look old.
Thank you for participating in Sunday Stills this week.

How cute, Robbie! It’s the hair I think that adds authenticity.

Thank you, Stevie. The hair definitely makes them older characters.

🙂 Never seen before such wonderful figures. You should work with china too.

These are great, Robbie. You really have a knack for human expressions in your fondants. What’s interesting is that you can do it, yet still keep the figures simple.

Hi Barbara, I think this sort of thing looks easier than it is. Creating these faces is quite challenging which is why I enjoy it.

It’s definitely challenging to make something so difficult look simple!
