My Christmas Chaos Tree and Merry Christmas

This is my last post on Robbie’s Inspiration for 2019. What a wonderful year it has been with lots of interesting new posts to read here on WP and elsewhere in the blogosphere, introductions to new authors and writers and lots of amazing books to read and review. The poetry readathon will continue next year for a few weeks as I still have a few lovely poetry books to tell you about.

I thought I would end this year’s post with some pictures of my Christmas Chaos Tree and some of my favourite Christmas decorations from past travels. I collect new ones from the places we travel too during the course of the year. My Christmas tree is decorated every year by children and I just love what they do. I have never had a sophisticated Christmas tree in my life and I think it is to late for me to change now.

I have seen some lovely Christmas tree posts over the past few days.

One is by Pam Wight over at roughwighting who has shared her Christmas tree decorations memories here : https://roughwighting.net/2019/12/20/not-just-ornamental/

Another is by blogger extraordinaire, John Rieber, who shares the most interesting and extraordinary posts and photographs. Can you believe that John has a bacon and a cheeseburger decoration? You can see them here: https://johnrieber.com/2019/12/21/christmas-is-all-around-90210-lights-up-sushi-ornaments-swinging-burgers-a-holiday-six-shot-saturday/

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and see you on 1 January 2020 with a review of my goals from 2019 and my new ones for 2020.

  1. I love your tree and your ornaments are wonderful. I too believe that each ornament should have a meaning or memory attached to it. I love the one from York and must try and find one for my tree. Hubby, who is from York, is often nicknamed the Viking. Have an amazing Christmas!! See you in the New Year. xo

    1. Thank you, Darlene. My tree is messy but meaningful. I am not one for sophistication. My sister, Cath, has a lovely branch she painted white and decorates with white and silver ornaments. It looks lovely but it just isn’t me. The Viking decoration, I also have a Viking ship, comes from the Jorvik Viking Centre gift shop. There is also an amazing Christmas decoration shop in The Shambles. I bought gifts for my sisters there.

    1. Hi Danny, that saxophone was made from the inside of Coca Cola cans by an African artist I know. He is really amazing. I have a lot of beaded African animal art works too. I try and support the locals, many of whom are very talented.

  3. “Christmas chaos tree” says it all with humor and light. Life isn’t a neatly trimmed tree; it’s full of mess and fun and memories bundled up for everyone. Your traveling ornaments are so wonderful!
Merry Merry Christmas, Robbie. Thanks for sharing my blog post about hanging memories. May our memories be sweet this season. ❤

    1. Thank you, Pam. Your lovely post really moved me. My house is like my tree, stuffed full of my memories and collections of dolls, African art and books [and then a few more books]. Have the most wonderful Christmas, Pam.

  4. Merry Christmas to you Robbie and a Happy New Year.
Your Christmas tree is so personal and fun. Yes to have children involved in decorating. Isn’t it funny how their favourite decorations end up higher as they grow. 🙂
Like you I have decorations that carry emotive memories.

    1. Thank you, Annette. Children at work, especially on something like a Christmas tree, is a great pleasure to watch. Michael and I are baking, Greg and I are discussing books and I will see all my nieces on Christmas day and my nephews on Christmas Eve. What a wonderful life.

  5. PS just two typos and not sure it matters – but just in case
the “to and too” are mixed up

travel too during the course of the year.
in my life and I think it is to late

    they should be reversed
should be travel to and too late

)feel free to delete this – and funny thing is I am going to fix a bunch of typos in my posts from this week. sure do feel like they happen now more than ever in the WP area

      1. Yeah – I wasn’t sure if it married but I did notice so many more errors in my posts now that they took away the embedded spell checker – I leave it alone in past posts and wonder if it is worth the time to fix.
Anyhow / hope you are having a wonderful festive start to your week Robbie

  9. Oh, Christmas Chaos trees, what a great term. We have had many of those over the years. It’s a little tamer this year, but my memories of our kids decorating our tree (and not directing them) are strong. I enjoyed seeing your ornaments. We have a similar one of a felt girl with braids. Merry Christmas, Robbie.
