I just happened to write these two poems today. They popped into my head, one after the other, this morning. Luckily for me it is poet’s choice this week so I can use these for Colleen’s challenge.
The cause
Slapping a plaster
over a wound spurting blood
will do little good
identifying the cause
may help to staunch the bleeding
Does it?
Can you see the light
At the end of the tunnel?
Does it shine brightly?
Does it beckon you strongly?
Or does it weakly waver?

Don’t stop, Robbie, even when you’re at work. Those creative moments bring out the best and deep thoughts like these ones. I can relate to the second one!

I know what you mean. Sometime the poetry came when I was driving and I had to find a place to park the car to write it before I forget, even though I could record it on the phone but just play safe to stop the car.

Thank you, Annika. I like tanka’s as they are short and tight and you can get to the heart of a matter but they allow a bit more expansion than a haiku.

I must admit, Jacqui, that most of my poems pop into my head like that and it just requires a bit of tweaking to get the syllable count correct.

Like Jacqui, I’ve never had poems pop into my head either. Think my brain is deficient in that area, lol. These are wonderful.

My poetry is usually quick to formulate, even the longer Sir Choc stories. Poetry is a bit like that I think as it has a rhyme and rhythm to it.
