Jonathan Roxmouth - The Musicals in Concert

I love Broadway musicals. The songs from famous musicals like Phantom of the Opera, Oliver Twist, My Fair Lady, Fiddler on the Roof and Mame have been firm favourites of mine since I was a very young child.

Today, my family went to see Jonathan Roxmouth – the musicals in concert at the Montecasino Theatre. I have watched Jonathan Roxmouth perform in a number of productions including Jesus Christ Superstar, Phantom of the Opera, Sunset Boulevard and Hats Off. He is a fantastic singer with a very powerful voice. He is also a talented pianist.

Today’s show also included another famous South African performer, Craig Urbani. I was at school with Craig and remember him in a high school performance of Agatha Christie’s And then there were none.

The show was very enjoyable and a number of wonderful songs from various musicals were shared with the audience. My personal favourites were The Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera and Memories.

Of course it doesn’t hurt that Jonathan Roxmouth is also gorgeous.

Have a lovely evening.

Robbie

      1. Vancouver offered both so I was lucky. My favourite is Les Miserables and I have seen it twice. Also The Phantom and Miss Saigon, I saw A Chorus Line in New York!! and Blood Brothers in London, another favourite. Yes, I have been lucky.

  1. I saw Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserable on Broadway in the ’80’s and they remain my favourites together with Joseph which I’ve seen over 20 times and Rocky Horror Picture Show which I’ve seen over 100 times. In Italian ICAL from English is changed to ATO and I was reminded of that in this prompt.

  2. I am so happy you had fun at the musical in concert. I haven’t seen any musicals except for Jesus Christ Superstar at summer camp in Russia in 2000. That was partly done in Russian and partly in English, neither of which I knew well at the time, so I didn’t understand a word and fell asleep midway through it. When I was a child, we did watch musicals on TV regularly, but I could never follow them, because they’re in English too and I, being blind, couldn’t read the subtitles.

You did a fab job of using the #SoCS prompt. I’d not thought of this word.
