#Photoprompt – Haven, a poem

When I read

words of passion

on a page

that attract strong emotion

and a call to action

they capture my heart

making it pound

with fierce jubilation.

When I read

words that flow

on a page

paragraph by paragraph

telling a story

it uplifts my spirit

fires my imagination

slaking my thirsty soul.

When I read

words of great beauty

on a page

submerging my mind

in a pool of ideas

it inspires me

providing a haven

for my turbulent thoughts.
