What Amazon says
Are you one of those people that barge through life, trying to get through it as best as you can, swimming against the everyday worries and stresses of life? Well, I have found a way to make it much more enjoyable.
Don’t you think everything sounds better when it rhymes? I certainly do. In fact, I have found that everything from doing the housework to growing older, can sound more positive and less daunting when made into a little ditty.
This book is about finding the humour, or raising a smile from the everyday things that we can all relate to in life, and looking at them from a different perspective. Nothing escapes versification; there is even a subject on sex! After all, that is one subject where there is plenty of room for laughter, even if it may not be the right moment!
My review
I love Judy E Martin’s poetry. It is so enjoyable and humorous. Judy has a delightful way of turning everyday situations into a real laugh. Her book of poetry is divided into ten chapters, as follows: Family, Festive, Seasons, Women, Ages, Music, Food, Creativity, Miscellaneous and Sex. This book fairly pulses with vitality and enthusiasm for life and I really look forward to reading a few of her uplifting verses at the end of a hard working day.
One of my absolute favourite poems is Ode to Cadbury’s and my favourite verse is as follows:
“They have moved across the water
To give their sales a Boost
But the chocolate’s taste is different
And the bar size is reduced.”
What absolute fun!

Sex? Sex and poetry? I thought ‘1 for the money, 2 for the show, 3 to get ready … yada yada yada’ was the definitive sex poem. I’ll have to find this book. Sounds like fun. 😂 Have a great day (and night)!!!😉

Thank you for the follow. This is my new(ish) blog as I recently broke my other one, so it is a little on the lean side for posts! 🙂

And, likewise. Thank you for reciprocating with a follow. But I’m curious, how did you ‘break’ it? You’ll find my stories just musings of my mind, generally related to something that happened to me growing up or in my current state of a crotchety old man. 😎

One thing after another went wrong with it. Images not appearing, the blog being down multiple times per day and then finally I got locked out of it! God knows what I did, it was restored to basics but I decided that it was better off just leaving it, although I was sad as it was 3 years worth of posts and friendships made.
I look forward to reading your stories and musings 🙂

Quite a story. I have difficulty printing my stories. I realized that I should have them in a safe place in case of the kind of disaster you experienced. By the way, are you in South Africa, too? I know it’s not the US because you referred to your mom and ‘mum’. I live in the western part of New York State along the southern shore of Lake Ontario.

Yes, I have taken steps now to back up my blog daily!
I am in the UK actually, in the South East about an hour from London. 🙂

How do I back up my blog? Is it easy-peasy? I have a few people I follow on Instagram who are in England. One is near Essex and posts beautiful photos of the shore and the Seven Sisters (white cliffs). Are you on Instagram?

Reminds me of the Ogden Nash poems I loved growing up. And writing and reading limericks. Now that would be a fun challenge.
