As this is my Dad’s birthday week and my blog has been devoted to him all week, I thought I would extend this theme to my weekly fondant tutorial. My Dad loves to camp and he has taught my boys all sorts of interesting and useful things like how to build a campfire and light it with one match [a regular boy scout is my Dad!], how to ensure that you don’t cause a bush fire by building a stone or brick surround for the campfire and clearing brush and leaves away all around the campfire site. We have had a few disasters such as when he gave Greg his first pen knife whilst camping and Greg just about cut his finger off trying to cut down a small tree but, on the whole, it has been wonderful for them.

In keeping with my fond memories of camping, this week’s tutorial shows you how to make a tent and two sleeping campers out of fondant.
